I Really Enjoyed this Fast-Paced Sequel
Betrayed is a fast-paced, paranormal read with fabulous characters, an engaging Nephilim mythology, lots of action, and a great romance. I love it when the sequel is just as good as the first book, if not better. Ednah definitely knows how to grab a hold of my attention from the get go and in the end leaves me wanting so much more. This time there's more twists, suspense betrayal and the stakes are higher than ever for Lil and Bran.
2. Christie: teen-book-scene,
The world Ednah Walters has created is so cool! I dug the diverse group of demon bad guys sent to face off with Lil and her crew. The characters battling it out with a variety of demons, each with unique strengths and weaknesses, really helped to keep the action sequences from becoming redundant.

Another fantastic book in the Guardian Legacy. Lil finds herself stuck in the middle of a betrayal by someone close to her as her father gains knowledge of her through this person. Is it one of her friends? One of her fellow trainees? Is it Bran the one she loves?
The only way to find out for sure is to enter the lair of the lion.

Betrayed was fast and action filled. As you fly through the pages all you can do is guess the outcome of events and be surprised at the twists that unfold. A great read, Ednah Walters does it again bringing a world of guardians to life.

Betrayed is a fast-paced, paranormal read with fabulous characters, an engaging Nephilim mythology, lots of action, and a great romance. The characters are even better in this sequel. Lil is still a strong heroine who's not afraid to kick some serious demon butt. She's loyal, snarky and tough, as she's not only learning to control her growing powers, but she has to figure out who's betrayal her, which is hard to do when you have so many great characters around you to support and help you. I felt like I connected more with Lil as she sorts out what's going on between her Bran, her father and her, and which of her friend's is betraying her. Bran and Lil's chemistry is great, if not a little stronger that it was in Awakened. There were times I totally wanted to kick Bran's butt, but in the end I completely understood why he was acting the way he was. I loved that Bran, Sykes, Remy, Izzy and Kim were back, along with some other favorites. Bran and Skyes back and forth bantering was great and provided the right amount of comical relief to the story. I really like Skyes's character. He's cocky and funny all at the same time, and knows how to push Bran's buttons by flittering with Lil, even if she doesn't flirt back.
I liked the way many of the characters were written and how they were developed as the engaging story line goes on. There's some great character surprises through out the story and just as I think I might have them figured out, Ednah throws in another twist. One of my favorites is the way Valafar, Lil's father and his #1 go to go guy, Dante where written. They're evil by nature, but yet I couldn't help but being intrigued by them. I liked them, but I also wanted to know more about their ulterior motives for their actions. I liked getting to see more of them in the storyline. The secrets and betrayal in the story were fabulous and I love it when an author can surprise me like that. The Guardian Legacy series has an intriguing mythology, an engaging mix of action, intense scenes, and romance. It's a series I really enjoy and one I'd definitely recommend to readers 13 yrs old & older.

Have you ever dreaded reading a sequel because you liked the first book so much that you didn't want to be disappointed? Well, let me assure you that this is not a problem with this series!!!
I was so incredibly excited when my copy of Betrayed arrived in the mail. I started it immediately and I was not disappointed one bit.
Betrayed is a fantastic sequel. I tore through the 366 page book in less than twenty four hours, staying up until I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. It felt amazing being back in the world Ednah created in the first book.
All of our beloved characters are back. Lil, the badass chosen one, Bran her evil-turned-good-winged boyfriend, Remy, Skyes, Kim, Izzy, all of the other guardians, including Lil's grandpa. And let's not forget Valafar!!! All of these characters are developed in this book, especially Lil and Bran. Lil becomes stronger phisically as well as mentally. She's one tough 16 year old! Bran is as dreamy and protective as ever. (#TeamBran!) It was agonizing when he started pulling away from Lil. I could feel her pain.
The book is action packed! Ednah writes some fantastic fight scenes! Heck, she writes fantastic scenes of any kind. The romantic parts are swoon worthy! I love the way the guardian trainees act around eachother. The character's dialog is great!
Here are some of my favorite lines:
"One caught your fancy?" "So many to love," he whispered, his gaze following another girl, "and so little time." "Man-whore," Kim said. "A proud card carrying member," he said absentmindedly, his eyes on another girl. "And I don't apologize for it."
"The way his heated eyes caressed my face left no doubt in anyone'smind he loved me."
And let's not forget the fact that someone has Betrayed Lil. I tried my hardest to figure out who it was before I found out. I was unsuccessful. Ednah keeps you on your toes, makes you suspect everyone, until she unveils the culprit. I didn't even think about this person. Ednah is good!!!
Last but not least, cover love!!! It's such a beautiful book to add to my shelf! I am eagerly awaiting book three Hunted!!!

This is the sequel to Awakened. I knew that I was going to love this but was wondering if it could live up to the first one. Well let me tell you it surpassed Awakened.
All the characters are back for another round in the guardian world. Things are going good,Lil and Bran's relationship is growing, she is training and hunting as a guardian, Bran's sister is living with him now. Then the trouble starts. Lil' father Valfar starts calling her and telling her she's in danger and that Bran is not telling her everything. At first she ignores him so he uses one of her friends as a medium, the whole phone thing I thought was cool. Then Bran starts acting different towards Lil and things go downhill from there. There's someone spying on Lil and sending information about Lil back to her father. Then there's Solange and the little kid's, I liked meeting these new characters. I felt Lil's struggles with Bran and her father. It was like a mystery trying to figure out who the spy and who the medium were. The romance, suspense, action and mystery were all fantastic. I couldn't put my kindle down, I wanted more. LOVED the ending with the party. Makes me smile just thinking about it.
I want to gush about everything that happened and all the moments between my favorite characters, Lil, Bran and yeah Skyes. I am not going to say anymore except that I LOVED this and can't wait to read more. This is one of my favorite series and it's a must read!

Lets Talk About It:
I am head over heels in love with this series. If you missed the first book, Awakened, you can see the review here. As soon as I finished Awakened I eagerly checked out EdnahWalters.com to see when the next book was coming out. And then some how fate was on my side and I was able to obtain an ARC (thank you fate, google, Stacey, and Ednah!!)
Oh how the second book did not disappoint! Lil continues on with her training, her life at school, her growing relationship with Bran and when all seems to be going good, BAM, enter her father to mess it all up.
One heck of a book. From start to finish, from training to war, and through out the whole book you think you know who the betrayal has come from but oh no. So wrong are we all!
This series, this book, captivates you much like the Twilight series did and enters you into a world that not only seems real but you want to be in. You want to know Lil and Bran and Sykes and all the other characters in the book. I absolutely love when an Author is able to pull you in so completely you almost forget it's fiction and that you aren't really there with everyone along the way. Ednah Walters has mastered this in her writing.
Make sure you check out Awakened and be ready to pick up Betrayed on August 1st!

I was floored by how amazing this book was. I finished it yesterday and so wished there was more. I am basically going crazy waiting for book 3 now. I didn't think it was possible but I LOVE Bran and Lil even more. The title Betrayed really fits this book to a tee. In this book Lil's left to wonder just who she can trust and just who might be out to destroy her and her Guardian friends. Also Lil and Bran's relationship is put to the test when Bran starts keeping things from Lil and pulling away from her just when she needs him the most. Betrayed also lets us get to know Bran's sister Celeste. We get to see how she is adjusting to life away from Coronis' Island. Remy, Sykes, Izzy, And Kim also play a big part in this book and there witty banter is just as engaging as in Awakened (The Guardian Legacy Series Book #1). Lil also gets a dose of her daddy dearest Valafar. Not only does Lil's demonic father try to put doubts in her head about those she knows and trust but he uses her late mother as a guise for his truer purpose. This book kept me glued from beginning to end. Is it wrong to find Angels/Nephilim's HOT? Bran is even HOTTER (in my opinion) in this sequel. So if you are looking for an action packed, Angels verse Demons, soul mates, and a Mortal Combat then Betrayed is the book for you. On a scale from 1-10 I give this book a resounding 10. I have the same feeling about this book as I did with the first one. It is still a series that I can read over and over again. The characters were just so vibrant and incredibly real for me. Ednah, I am now salivating for the next book in this AMAZINGLY FANTASTIC series. Everyone one, in my opinion, NEEDS to pick up a copy of Betrayed. If you haven't read Awakened yet then you should pick up a copy of that book as well.

This review is from: Betrayed (The Guardian Legacy) (Kindle Edition)
Betrayed is a great continuation to Lil and Bran's story. Just when you thought things couldn't get more dangerous and more complicated, Lil finds her way into trouble once again.
Lil is adjusting to her new life as a guardian. As a powerful Psi and the only one able to control the most powerful weapon known to nephilim (the Kris Dagger) Lil is a force to be reckoned with. As she goes through training to increase her abilities and to learn to wield the dagger with minimal pain and effort she
discovers some new challenges in the process.
Just as Lil feels like her life is becoming as normal as it could possibly be she begins to get phone calls from her father Valafar. He warns her of someone betraying her and that she cannot trust the ones closest to her. He also tells Lil that Bran is keeping things from her, and when Lil tries to cut ties with Valafar, he uses any means necessary to get in contact with her even if that means putting one of her friends at risk.
As Lil tries to figure out why Bran is being strange and pushing her away, Lil comes to realize that Valafar may be right. Should she trust her father? When Lil finds out the truth behind why Bran is avoiding her, she does whatever she can to help him even if it means going to her father for help. Lil must overcome her fears, and question the motives of everyone around her in order to find the person that has betrayed her.
Can she truely be the chosen one and bring conflicting sides together once and for all or must she choose a side herself; even if it's the side of evil, in order to save the ones she loves.
Betrayed was fast and action filled. As you fly through the pages all you can do is guess the outcome of events and be surprised at the twists that unfold. A great read, Ednah Walters does it again bringing a world of guardians to life.

Missy (Missy's Reads & Reviews)
I'll start with the obvious by saying that it's probably a lot easier for people to get into this book if they've read the first in the series, Awakened. Betrayed pretty much kicks off where the first ends, just a little time passes - Lil is training and pretty much being the kick-ass heroine that she was in Awakened, just more knowledgeable and a lot more disciplined.
I think I can honestly say that Lil is one of my favorite female leads, with all of the traits that you want a strong female lead to have. She's smart, strong, loyal and doesn't know how to back down. She's also not invincible and has a softer side that we can all relate to. Bran is a little shady in this book, but I have to admit that his actions are what kept me intrigued the most. I was also a fan of Sykes, and enjoyed the interaction with him and Lil in this book.
The action was incredible and I'm glad we got to see a good bit of that in the story. The plot went right along swimmingly well and, even though I thought I was a genius and figured out everything before the end of the book, I was cleverly fooled and left completely shocked. Lots of action, lots of good versus evil and a little bit of romance sprinkled into the mix - Betrayed is pretty much my perfect sequel to a great urban fantasy-type series.
If you've read Awakened, then you definitely want to pick up this book. If you haven't, you definitely want to pick up this book. It's a great read!

Betrayed is a fast-paced paranormal with great characters, great mythology, lots of action, and great romance. I think that this sequel is just as good as the first book if not better. Ednah Walters knows how to grab my attention from the first chapter and leave me wanting more at the end. In this book thought the stakes are higher, there is more betrayal and more twists and turns.
The characters are better in this sequel. Lil is still the same strong heroine, that is not afraid to kick some butt. She is still very loyal to those she loves and is not afraid to speak her mind. Lil has a lot on her plate in this sequel, she most try to sort out what is going on between her and Bran, how to control her powers, who betrayed her, and also how to coup with being half demon. I liked the chemistry between Lil and Bran, it is a lot hotter then in Awakened. All the great characters are back from Awakened. I really enjoyed all of the bantering that goes on between the team of Guardians, it made the story quite comical at times, which was quite refreshing.
Over all the book was great. The pace was fast, the plot was jam-packed with unexpected twists and turns, characters that I have grown to love. I do not see how I could not love this book. This book has took this whole series on a great and thrilling roller coaster ride and I am eagerly awaiting its sequel, Hunted. This book comes highly recommended by me for all age groups.
Christie: teen-book-scene,
Betrayed jumps back into the action with the Cardinal Guardian trainees we met in Awakened. Lil, who had to deal with her entire life being turned upside down in Awakened, really seems to have things together at the start of Betrayed. Then she receives a cryptic phone call from her demonic father that leaves her wondering if someone she thought she could trust is actually betraying her.
I was so excited to catch up with Lil and all her friends. I really liked Lil from the first time I met her in Awakened, and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching her character grow and mature over the course of this series. Things with boyfriend Bran are rocky at times during Betrayed, but without getting super angsty. I love that Lil doesn’t take his crap and almost always stands up for herself. I also couldn’t get enough when it came to her interactions with fellow trainee, Sykes. He is probably my favorite character in this series. His attitude and sense of humor makes it difficult to not become smitten by him
The world Ednah Walters has created is so cool! I dug the diverse group of demon bad guys sent to face off with Lil and her crew. The characters battling it out with a variety of demons, each with unique strengths and weaknesses, really helped to keep the action sequences from becoming redundant. One of my favorite things about Awakened was all the super cool powers the characters possessed. In Betrayed those powers have become even stronger, and I was really digging how kick ass this made all the characters when they fought the previously mentioned demons. As for Lil’s powers, you don’t want to miss out on how they’re evolving. She is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Betrayed contains loads of action and battles that will have readers on the edge of their seats. This made for a very quick moving pace that worked perfectly for the story.
There is more to this series than just fierce fights and demon hunting. Lil and Bran have such an intense connection. It was disheartening seeing them argue and bicker during Betrayed. Everyone was so stressed about finding the mysterious list and it showed. Bran’s behavior was also a little shady at times and definitely had me doubting his intentions. Bran’s shadiness was one of the key elements that kept me reading. I was dying to discover what the boy was up to and hoping he wasn’t the one betraying the lovely Lil.
If you’re into stories of the good guys and the bad guys battling it out (and don’t mind a little romance with your action), I really suggest you give this series a try!

Ednah Walters continues her impressive streak! Just like Awakened, Betrayed has risen above all the other books in this genre. She has created such an amazing world for her Guardians & demons where good and evil are not as simple as it seems they should be. The complex relationships between Lil & Bran, as well as, Lil & her father are so pragmatic. You can feel the push and pull of emotions as Lil figures out who she must trust. It's so refreshing to have a heroine who has to learn to struggle with normal problems along with her not so normal ones. I enjoyed some of the new characters in the series like Celeste, Solange & Dante. I am on pins & needles waiting for the next book. Anyone looking for a fresh & original read in the Angel/Demons world will enjoy this series.

Wow what a ride...*whines* does it have to end?!?! Just until book 3 *winks*
This book is just amazing, had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. I'd reread book one Awakened to refresh my memory of the storyline, so glad I did made me enjoy this one even more.
Ednah has done an amazing job, she truly knows how to capture her readers and take them on a whirl wind adventure full of suspense, action, romance, and of course...loads of danger! So many surprises around each corner you'll be hooked till the very end, and even then your left wanting more. We are introduced to some new and exciting characters. Also the old characters Bran, Lil, Sykes, Izzy, Remy and Kim are back to kick some arse. And boy do they ever!!
The Guardian Legacy books are one's that I could read over and over again. A journey that'll never get old and characters that'll still have you intrigued years later. So if you love a fast paced action packed book full of gorgeous Nephilim with awesome powers, then these books are a must read!
Jessica Subject (http://www.markofthestars.com/wp/)
As alrunes, Lil and Bran will be together forever. Or so Lil believes, until Bran becomes distant. Not only does he put a shield against Lil's psi abilities, but he also leaves for long periods of time, never telling her where he's going or where he's been.
Already feeling down, Lil is contacted by her demon father, Valafar, whom she believed to be dead. His continual calls build on the doubts already in her mind, until she doesn't know who to trust.
Betrayed is yet another book by Ednah Walters (E.B. Walters), that I really enjoyed. I found Betrayed to be darker than Awakened, the first book in The Guardian Legacy. Emotions run high and become transfixed with Lil's plight. The middle became a bit slow at some points, but at the same time it helped to build my emotional investment in the story.
Old and new characters are introduced seamlessly. There are also many subplots involved which I look forward to reading about in book three.
Betrayed is another great installment in The Guardian Legacy and I look forward to reading the next in the series and more from Ednah Walters.

A fantastic sequel that leaves you wanting more

Another fantastic book in the Guardian Legacy!, July 22, 2011

Lil finds herself stuck in the middle of a betrayal by someone close to her as her father gains knowledge of her through this person. Is it one of her friends? One of her fellow trainees? Is it Bran the one she loves?
The only way to find out for sure is to enter the lair of the lion.

I was so excited to have the chance to read and review an ARC of Betrayed, after book one I was dying to read more about this incredible world Ednah Walters has created.
