I love strong female characters, they are too rare in YA novels and novels in general. I think they add a special something to the novel. I love how YA fiction can include other-worldy plots and first romances, jobs, dates, school (college)-that you don't typically find in adult fiction. edysicecreamlover18ATgmailDOTcom

To me the heroines have got to be strong. Not necessarily physically, but with a powerful mind and heart. I love it when they surprise the heroes with their smart remarks and intelligent actions, especially in YA fiction. I also like it when the characters 'evolve' during the book, growing up and improving themselves.

It's always good to see a female take charge and show everyone that we can kick arse too. That us females are not to be messed with. Having a email kick arse character brings something special to a story.

The story lines...I love reading a book with a strong female lead who knows what she wants and goes after it!

I love a kick arse heroine BUT if she's awesome then she needs an equally awesome partner, not some sap

Hmm, I love that it teaches us something, each novel has its own hidden message, even if the story is paranormal. I love reading stories with kickarse girls. We are powerful too, let's show it!

I find YA books which can balance the amount of action and romance in it really enticing. Throw in a little humor and wit and you've got perfection.

YA books have more story to them, I think. Plus, even though I'm not a teen anymore, I can relate to them more.
Kick-butt girls and guys are a must! I can't stand ones that are boring and whine the whole time!
